Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
KCC2 (Potassium-Chloride Cotransporter 2) is a key player in maintaining the balance of chloride ions in neurons, thus influencing inhibitory neurotransmission mediated by the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). Research on KCC2 has gained significant attention due to its crucial role in regulating neuronal excitability and synaptic plasticity, as well as its involvement in various neurological disorders, such as epilepsy, depression, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of KCC2 function and regulation is essential for developing therapeutic strategies for these conditions. The recombinant expression of KCC2 proteins allows researchers to study the transport kinetics, ion coupling, and cellular localization of this cotransporter in controlled experimental systems. This research can reveal insights into how alterations in KCC2 activity can lead to pathological states, providing a basis for potential drug development aimed at modulating its function. Additionally, the generation of KCC2 mutant proteins can help identify critical regions for its activity and interaction with other cellular components. Overall, the study of KCC2 recombinant proteins is pivotal for elucidating the transporter’s role in the central nervous system and holds promise for innovative approaches in treating related disorders.
