Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
GALNT17 is a member of the polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (GALNT) family, which plays a critical role in the initiation of O-glycosylation, a pivotal post-translational modification that influences protein functions, signaling pathways, and cell interactions. This enzyme catalyzes the transfer of N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) to serine or threonine residues on target proteins, specifically in the context of mucin-type O-glycosylation. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of GALNT17 in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, as well as its potential involvement in certain pathological conditions such as cancer. Alterations in GALNT17 expression or activity may contribute to aberrant glycosylation patterns that are often associated with tumorigenesis and metastasis. Thus, understanding GALNT17 at the molecular level, including the characterization of its recombinant protein, may provide insights into its functional relevance and therapeutic potential. Researchers are increasingly focused on investigating GALNT17's substrate specificity, regulatory mechanisms, and interaction with other glycosyltransferases, unveiling new applications in disease modeling, drug development, and targeted therapies. Consequently, the study of recombinant GALNT17 is crucial for elucidating its biological roles and assessing its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in diverse diseases.
