  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Apolipoprotein B (APOB) is a critical protein involved in lipid metabolism, specifically in the transport of lipids such as cholesterol and triglycerides in the bloodstream. It exists in several isoforms, with APOB-100 and APOB-48 being the most studied. APOB-100 is essential for the formation of low-density lipoproteins (LDL), while APOB-48 is primarily found in chylomicrons and is crucial for intestinal lipid absorption. Abnormalities in APOB levels or function are linked to various cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, making it a significant target for therapeutic interventions. The study of recombinant APOB proteins has gained attention in recent years, as these proteins can be engineered to study their structure-function relationships and to assess their role in lipid metabolism and disease progression. Furthermore, recombinant APOB proteins serve as valuable tools in the development of novel lipid-lowering therapies, including gene therapy approaches aimed at modulating APOB expression. Understanding the mechanistic insights into APOB and its isoforms can potentially offer new strategies for the treatment and prevention of metabolic disorders, highlighting the importance of ongoing research in this field.
