Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
VDAC3 (Voltage-Dependent Anion Channel 3) is a protein that plays a pivotal role in mitochondrial function and cellular metabolism. As part of the VDAC family, it forms pores in the mitochondrial outer membrane, facilitating the transport of metabolites, ions, and other small molecules between the mitochondria and the cytosol. The significance of VDAC3 extends beyond mere cellular respiration, as it has been implicated in various physiological processes, including apoptosis, cell signaling, and the regulation of cellular energy homeostasis. Recent studies have highlighted the potential of VDAC3 as a therapeutic target in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegeneration, wherein alterations in mitochondrial dynamics and function are often observed. The recombinant expression of VDAC3 allows for the detailed study of its structure, function, and interactions with other cellular components, providing insights into its role in health and disease. By engineering VDAC3 as a recombinant protein, researchers aim to elucidate the mechanisms driving mitochondrial dysfunction and explore potential avenues for drug development aimed at restoring normal mitochondrial and cellular function. This research is crucial for understanding the complexities of mitochondrial biology and its implications for human health, ultimately contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting metabolic and mitochondrial disorders.
