  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

GADL1 (glutamate decarboxylase-like 1) is a member of the glutamate decarboxylase (GAD) family, which primarily functions in the synthesis of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. Research has shown that GADL1 plays a significant role in various physiological and pathological processes, including neurodevelopment, synaptic plasticity, and potential involvement in neurodegenerative diseases and psychiatric disorders. Its unique enzymatic properties and expression patterns across different tissues suggest that GADL1 may contribute to metabolic regulation and neurotransmitter balance beyond the classic GABAergic functions. The recombinant expression of GADL1 provides a valuable tool for studying its biochemical characteristics and functions. By producing GADL1 as a recombinant protein, researchers can analyze its enzymatic activity, structure, and interactions with other biomolecules. This research is critical for understanding how GADL1 affects neural circuits and its potential role in diseases, which could lead to novel therapeutic strategies targeting GADL1-related pathways. As research continues, unraveling the specific mechanisms of GADL1 may not only enhance our knowledge of basic neuroscience but also pave the way for innovative treatments for brain disorders associated with GABAergic dysfunction.
