  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PARP (poly ADP-ribose polymerase) proteins are a family of enzymes involved in the cellular response to DNA damage, particularly in the repair of single-strand breaks. Discovered in the 1960s, PARP1, the most studied member, plays a crucial role in the base excision repair pathway, contributing to genomic stability. When DNA damage occurs, PARP1 is rapidly activated, facilitating the recruitment of other repair proteins through the addition of poly(ADP-ribose) chains to target proteins. This modification not only aids in DNA repair processes but also influences various cellular functions, including apoptosis, chromatin remodeling, and cellular signaling pathways. The significance of PARP in DNA repair has garnered attention in cancer research, especially concerning tumors with deficiencies in homologous recombination repair, such as those with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations. Inhibitors of PARP, such as olaparib and niraparib, have shown promise in selectively targeting cancer cells with these mutations, leading to their development as therapeutic agents in oncology. Ongoing research continues to explore the multifaceted roles of PARP proteins in cancer biology, therapeutic responses, and potential implications for precision medicine, underlining their relevance in both basic and clinical research settings.
