  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

EXOC5 is a crucial component of the exocyst complex, which plays a significant role in the process of exocytosis—a vital cellular function involving the transport of vesicles to the plasma membrane for secretion. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of EXOC5 in various cellular functions, including cell migration, adhesion, and synaptic transmission, linking it to processes such as wound healing and neuronal signaling. Understanding the structure and function of EXOC5 is critical for elucidating its role in health and disease, as dysregulation of exocytosis is implicated in several pathologies, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. The recombinant expression of EXOC5 enables researchers to investigate its biochemical properties, interactions with other proteins, and its role in the dynamics of the exocyst complex. By producing EXOC5 as a recombinant protein, scientists aim to isolate and characterize its functional domains, explore its interaction networks, and assess its potential as a therapeutic target. The ongoing research on EXOC5, through techniques such as crystallography and biochemical assays, is essential for advancing our understanding of exocytic mechanisms and developing strategies to modulate these processes in various diseases. As such, the study of EXOC5 holds significant promise for uncovering new insights into cellular communication and developing novel therapeutic approaches.
