Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
TMEM38A (transmembrane protein 38A) is a protein that is primarily recognized for its role as a calcium-permeable channel in cell membranes, particularly in the context of cellular calcium homeostasis. Research has indicated that TMEM38A is involved in various physiological processes, including muscle contraction and neuronal signaling. Abnormalities in TMEM38A function have been associated with several pathological conditions, such as hearing loss and certain genetic disorders. The recombinant expression of TMEM38A allows for detailed investigations into its structural and functional properties. By producing this protein in a controlled laboratory setting, researchers can study its interaction with other cellular components, elucidate its ion-channel characteristics, and explore its potential as a therapeutic target. The recombinant protein serves as a valuable tool in high-throughput screening assays and electrophysiological studies, facilitating the development of drugs that could modulate its activity. Overall, the research on recombinant TMEM38A not only enhances our understanding of calcium signaling mechanisms but also opens new avenues for targeting calcium dysregulation in various diseases.
