Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
AANAT (aralkylamine N-acetyltransferase) is a crucial enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of melatonin, a hormone that regulates circadian rhythms and has significant implications for sleep-wake cycles, mood regulation, and various physiological processes. Research on AANAT has gained traction due to its potential role in addressing sleep disorders, seasonal affective disorder, and other conditions linked to circadian rhythm disturbances. The enzyme catalyzes the transfer of an acyl group from acetyl-CoA to serotonin, producing N-acetylserotonin, which is subsequently converted to melatonin by another enzyme, hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase (HIOMT). Understanding the structure-function relationship of AANAT is vital for developing therapeutic interventions focused on melatonin regulation. Recent advances in recombinant protein technology have enabled the production of highly purified AANAT proteins, allowing for detailed kinetic studies and the exploration of enzyme inhibitors and activators. Such investigations are essential for elucidating the regulatory mechanisms of melatonin synthesis and its broader implications on health. Additionally, AANAT’s potential as a target for pharmacological agents underscores its significance in both circadian biology and clinical applications, thereby driving ongoing research efforts toward the development of novel treatments for related disorders. Overall, the study of AANAT recombinant proteins not only enhances our comprehension of melatonin's role in biological rhythms but also opens new avenues for improving sleep quality and mental health through targeted therapeutic strategies.
