Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Smad6 is a member of the Smad family of proteins that play a crucial role in the Transforming Growth Factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling pathway, which is important for various cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Smad6 is primarily known as an inhibitor of this pathway, functioning to modulate the effects of TGF-β signaling by interacting with receptor-activated Smads and preventing their nuclear translocation. The study of recombinant Smad6 protein has gained significant interest due to its potential applications in understanding cellular mechanisms that underlie various diseases, including fibrosis, cancer, and cardiovascular disorders. By producing recombinant Smad6, researchers aim to elucidate its structure-function relationship, explore its interactions with other molecular players in the TGF-β signaling cascade, and identify potential therapeutic strategies to target the pathway in disease contexts. Furthermore, investigating Smad6's role in regulating gene expression can provide insights into how cellular responses to TGF-β are fine-tuned. Overall, research on recombinant Smad6 protein not only enhances our understanding of TGF-β signaling dynamics but also opens avenues for the development of novel therapeutic interventions to modulate this important signaling pathway in various pathological conditions.
