  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

RBM20 (RNA-binding motif protein 20) is a splicing regulator that plays a crucial role in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, particularly in cardiac tissues. It is primarily known for its involvement in the alternative splicing of pre-mRNA, influencing the production of various isoforms of proteins essential for cardiac function. Mutations in the RBM20 gene are linked to familial dilated cardiomyopathy, a serious heart condition characterized by the enlargement of the heart chambers and reduced cardiac output, which can lead to heart failure. Research on RBM20 has gained momentum in recent years due to its significant implications in cardiac health and disease. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying RBM20’s function in splicing may reveal new therapeutic targets for treating heart conditions. Additionally, studies have shown that RBM20 interacts with other splicing factors and regulatory proteins, highlighting its role in a complex network of gene expression regulation. Investigating RBM20’s interactome and its regulatory pathways might provide insights into the broader aspects of RNA processing, with potential implications in other diseases characterized by splicing defects. Overall, the ongoing research on RBM20 is critical for elucidating its contributions to cardiac physiology and pathology, paving the way for innovative approaches to prevent and treat cardiomyopathies and other related disorders.
