Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC6A8, also known as the sodium-dependent creatine transporter, is a crucial protein involved in the cellular uptake of creatine, an important molecule for energy metabolism, particularly in muscle and brain tissues. Mutations in the SLC6A8 gene have been linked to various neurological disorders, including X-linked creatine deficiency syndrome, which is characterized by developmental delay, intellectual disability, and seizures. Given its vital role in cellular energy homeostasis, SLC6A8 has garnered significant attention in both basic and clinical research. The production of recombinant SLC6A8 protein enables researchers to explore its functional properties, structural characteristics, and interaction with various ligands and substrates. Using techniques such as site-directed mutagenesis, researchers can also investigate how specific mutations affect the transport activity and functioning of SLC6A8, thereby shedding light on the underlying mechanisms of related pathologies. Additionally, understanding the dynamics of SLC6A8 could lead to novel therapeutic approaches for conditions associated with creatine deficiency, enhancing our overall grasp of cellular energy management and its implications for health and disease.
