Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC2A5, also known as the fructose transporter GLUT5, plays a crucial role in the absorption and transport of fructose in various tissues, particularly in the intestine, kidney, and brain. Understanding the function and regulation of SLC2A5 is essential for elucidating its implications in metabolic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and fructose malabsorption syndromes. Research has shown that altered expression or activity of SLC2A5 can lead to significant metabolic dysregulation, highlighting the need for therapeutic strategies targeting this transporter. Recombinant SLC2A5 protein studies facilitate the exploration of its biophysical properties, substrate specificity, and interaction with regulatory proteins, thus aiding in the understanding of its role in health and disease. By producing a high-purity recombinant form of SLC2A5, researchers can conduct detailed biochemical assays and structural analyses, which contribute to the development of potential pharmacological agents aimed at modulating its activity. Furthermore, recombinant SLC2A5 can serve as a valuable tool for screening substrates and inhibitors, providing insights into its physiological relevance and potential therapeutic applications in metabolic diseases associated with fructose metabolism.
