Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Polycystic kidney disease 2 (PKD2) is a hereditary disorder primarily characterized by the formation of fluid-filled cysts in the kidneys, leading to progressive renal failure. The disease is caused by mutations in the PKD2 gene, which encodes a protein known as polycystin-2, a key component of the renal epithelial cells that plays a vital role in cell signaling, fluid transport, and maintaining calcium homeostasis. Research on PKD2 recombinant protein is crucial for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying this disease. Limited functional activity and proper localization of the polycystin-2 protein due to mutations contribute to the cystic phenotype observed in affected individuals. Consequently, studying the recombinant form of this protein facilitates insights into its structure-function relationships, potential interactions with other proteins, and effects on cellular pathways involved in cystogenesis. Furthermore, the recombinant protein can be utilized in developing potential therapeutic approaches, such as gene therapy or pharmacological interventions aimed at restoring its function. Overall, research on PKD2 recombinant protein not only advances our understanding of the pathophysiology of polycystic kidney disease but also holds promise for identifying novel therapeutic targets to mitigate disease progression and improve patient outcomes.
