Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
COL16A1, or collagen type XVI alpha 1, is a member of the collagen family, primarily known for its role in the extracellular matrix (ECM) of various tissues. Research into COL16A1 has gained traction due to its association with several critical biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and tissue development. This particular collagen type is predominantly expressed in connective tissues and is thought to play a significant role in the structural integrity and mechanical properties of the ECM. Recent studies have also suggested that COL16A1 is involved in disease pathogenesis, particularly in conditions such as fibrosis and certain types of cancer, where alterations in ECM composition can influence tumor progression and metastasis. The recombinant production of COL16A1 protein allows researchers to investigate its specific functions and interactions systematically, as well as its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target. Understanding COL16A1’s mechanisms in these contexts could provide valuable insights for developing novel strategies for the treatment of diseases linked to ECM dysregulation, highlighting the importance of this protein in both fundamental biology and clinical applications.
