  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CASK (Calmodulin-Dependent Protein Kinase) is a multifunctional protein that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including synaptic transmission, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization. As a member of the PDZ-domain-containing proteins, CASK is involved in the assembly of multiprotein complexes at the cell membrane, influencing neurotransmitter receptor localization and synaptic plasticity. The study of CASK's structure and function is vital for understanding its significant implications in neurodevelopmental disorders and diseases such as autism spectrum disorders and mental retardation. CASK operates through protein-protein interactions, and its dysregulation has been linked to disrupted neuronal functions. Research focusing on the recombination and characterization of CASK proteins aims to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying its roles in neuronal health and disease. By generating recombinant CASK proteins, scientists can analyze their binding interactions, post-translational modifications, and structural properties, providing insights into CASK's involvement in synaptic dynamics and signaling pathways. This knowledge not only enhances our understanding of basic neurobiology but also opens up potential avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting CASK-related disorders. As research progresses, the exploration of CASK's interactions and functional pathways continues to shed light on its importance in maintaining neuronal integrity and function, emphasizing the need for further investigations into this critical protein.
