Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PRMT5 (protein arginine methyltransferase 5) is a crucial enzyme involved in the post-translational modification of proteins through arginine methylation, which plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including gene regulation, signal transduction, and RNA metabolism. Abnormal PRMT5 activity has been implicated in several diseases, particularly in cancer, where it contributes to tumorigenesis by regulating the expression of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. The study of recombinant PRMT5 proteins has gained attention as a means to understand its enzymatic mechanisms, substrate specificity, and the structural features that influence its activity. By producing PRMT5 in a recombinant system, researchers can perform detailed biochemical analyses, such as investigating its role in methylation of histones and other regulatory proteins, and studying the effects of specific mutations on its function. This research could provide insights into PRMT5's involvement in disease pathways, potentially leading to the development of targeted therapies that modulate its activity. Moreover, understanding the intricacies of PRMT5 can enhance our knowledge of arginine methylation as a regulatory mechanism in cellular biology, opening avenues for further investigations into other members of the protein arginine methyltransferase family and their roles in health and disease.
