Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
AFP2 (Alpha-Fetoprotein 2) is a member of the alpha-fetoprotein family, which plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including development, immunity, and disease pathology. The re-expressing of AFP in adult tissues, particularly in cancerous cells, has drawn significant research interest. AFP2, a variant of the traditional AFP, exhibits unique structural and functional properties that may contribute to tumor progression and immune evasion. Although the exact mechanisms governing AFP2's role in cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma and germ cell tumors remain under investigation, its elevated levels in certain malignancies have prompted its exploration as a potential biomarker for early diagnosis and targeted therapy. Furthermore, AFP2's participation in maternal-fetal interactions during pregnancy opens avenues for understanding its implications in reproductive health and gestational disorders. Researchers are actively investigating recombinant AFP2 protein to elucidate its biological functions, interaction with receptors, and potential therapeutic applications. By generating and studying recombinant AFP2, scientists aim to provide insights into its role in physiological and pathological states, ultimately contributing to the development of novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies in oncology and reproductive medicine.
