  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

TFAP2C (Transcription Factor AP-2 Gamma) is a member of the AP-2 family of transcription factors, known for its critical role in regulating gene expression during embryonic development and differentiation. This protein is particularly important in the development of the brain, heart, and various epithelial tissues. Abnormal expression of TFAP2C has been linked to several human diseases, including various cancers, where it can act as an oncogene or a tumor suppressor depending on the context. Researchers have been investigating the mechanisms of TFAP2C in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The creation of recombinant TFAP2C proteins is fundamental for studying their structure-function relationships and understanding their molecular interactions. Such recombinant proteins are typically produced in various expression systems, including bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells, allowing for the assessment of TFAP2C's functional properties in vitro. By employing techniques like co-immunoprecipitation and luciferase reporter assays, researchers can elucidate the pathways regulated by TFAP2C and its downstream targets. Additionally, the role of TFAP2C in epigenetic regulation and its interactions with other transcription factors and co-regulators are being actively explored, making it a significant focus in cancer biology and developmental studies. Overall, the characterization of TFAP2C through recombinant protein studies is vital for uncovering its biological functions and potential therapeutic implications.
