Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Alpha-synuclein (SNCA) is a presynaptic protein predominantly expressed in the brain, most notably in neurons, where it plays a critical role in synaptic function and neurotransmitter release. Its involvement in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's disease (PD), has prompted extensive research into its function and pathophysiology. Abnormal aggregation of alpha-synuclein into Lewy bodies is a hallmark of PD and related disorders, leading to neuronal dysfunction and degeneration. The study of recombinant SNCA proteins has become a pivotal approach to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying alpha-synuclein's pathogenicity and to explore potential therapeutic interventions. Recombination allows for the production of pure, uniformly sized proteins that can be used in biochemical assays, structural studies, and cell-based models to elucidate their interactions with other cellular components. This research aims to dissect the conformational changes of SNCA, the factors influencing its aggregation, and its cellular effects. Additionally, understanding the role of post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation and ubiquitination, on SNCA's behavior is crucial for identifying novel drug targets. By leveraging recombinant SNCA proteins, researchers are not only advancing our comprehension of PD and synucleinopathies but are also paving the way towards the development of strategies for early diagnosis and effective therapies against these debilitating diseases.
