Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PCDHa8 (Protocadherin Alpha 8) is a member of the protocadherin family, which plays a crucial role in the development and function of the nervous system. Protocadherins are implicated in the regulation of cell-cell interactions, and their expression patterns are often specific to particular neuronal subtypes. The focus on PCDHa8 stems from its potential involvement in establishing synaptic connections and maintaining neural circuitry. Recent studies have suggested that PCDHa8 may be linked to various neurodevelopmental disorders, highlighting its importance in neural plasticity and functionality. Research efforts have increasingly aimed at characterizing the structure and protein interactions of PCDHa8, particularly through the use of recombinant protein techniques. By expressing and purifying PCDHa8 as a recombinant protein, researchers can study its biochemical properties, affinities, and functional roles within cellular contexts. This investigation is key to unraveling the molecular mechanisms by which PCDHa8 contributes to neuronal development and potential pathways involved in neuropsychiatric conditions. The insights gained from this research could pave the way for novel therapeutic strategies targeting PCDHa8-related pathways in neurological diseases.
