  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SEC61B is a crucial component of the Sec61 translocon, which facilitates protein translocation across the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane in eukaryotic cells. The Sec61 complex, including SEC61B, plays a significant role in the synthesis and folding of proteins destined for secretion, plasma membrane localization, or insertion into organelles. Given its fundamental role in cellular processes, understanding the structure and function of SEC61B is vital for elucidating mechanisms of protein synthesis and misfolding diseases. Research has shown that SEC61B is involved in the translocation of a diverse range of polypeptides, including membrane proteins and secretory proteins, and is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Mutations or dysregulation of SEC61B can lead to various pathological conditions, making it a potential target for therapeutic intervention. Recent studies employing advanced techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy and mutagenesis have provided insights into the dynamic nature of SEC61B during protein translocation, revealing its interactions with other translocon components and ribosomes. Continued investigation into SEC61B's molecular mechanisms will enhance our understanding of both normal and disease-associated processes in cell biology.
