  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MTMR2 (myotubularin-related protein 2) is a member of the myotubularin family of phosphoinositide phosphatases, which play a crucial role in intracellular signaling and membrane dynamics. This protein is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and brain tissues, and mutations in the MTMR2 gene have been linked to diverse myopathies, particularly those characterized by muscle weakness and impairment of neuromuscular junctions. Research on MTMR2 has gained significance due to its involvement in the regulation of phosphoinositides, which are vital for cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and vesicle trafficking. Understanding the structure and function of MTMR2 could unveil its mechanisms in muscle pathology and facilitate the development of targeted therapies for related genetic disorders. Additionally, the characterization of MTMR2 as a potential biomarker for muscle diseases adds another layer to its importance in clinical research. As scientists continue to investigate the biochemical pathways influenced by MTMR2, insights into its role in cellular homeostasis and disease etiology will not only illuminate fundamental biological processes but also pave the way for innovative therapeutic strategies in treating myopathies and other related conditions.
