  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MED6, a crucial subunit of the Mediator complex, plays a significant role in regulating transcription by interacting with RNA polymerase II and various transcription factors. The Mediator complex acts as a bridge between gene-specific regulatory proteins and the basal transcription machinery, thus influencing gene expression in response to diverse signaling pathways. Research on MED6 is particularly important because it is implicated in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and the response to environmental stimuli. Furthermore, studies have shown that alterations in the function or expression levels of MED6 are associated with numerous diseases, including cancer and metabolic disorders. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of MED6 and the Mediator complex can provide insights into the regulation of gene expression and the potential development of therapeutic strategies targeting transcriptional dysregulation. Advances in structural biology and biochemistry have enabled researchers to elucidate the interaction networks and functional dynamics of MED6 within the Mediator complex, making it a focal point for ongoing studies aimed at unraveling its role in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
