Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ERCC6, also known as Cockayne syndrome protein B (CSB), is a critical protein involved in the DNA repair process, particularly in the repair of oxidative damage and the resolution of stalled transcription. Mutations in the ERCC6 gene are associated with Cockayne syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by growth failure, neurological impairment, and progeroid features, highlighting the protein's essential role in maintaining cellular integrity and function. Research into ERCC6 has gained momentum due to its involvement in transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair (TC-NER), a pathway crucial for correcting DNA lesions that impede transcription. Given that DNA damage can lead to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, understanding the mechanisms governing ERCC6 activity and its interactions with other repair proteins is vital. Recent studies have employed recombinant protein techniques to analyze ERCC6's functional properties, interactions with damaged DNA substrates, and regulatory mechanisms under oxidative stress conditions. This research not only enhances our understanding of cellular responses to DNA damage but also opens up potential therapeutic avenues for conditions linked to ERCC6 deficiency. The elucidation of ERCC6's structural and functional characteristics could inform the development of targeted interventions aimed at mitigating the effects of DNA repair deficiencies. As such, ERCC6 remains a focal point of molecular biology and genetics research, offering insights that may lead to novel treatment strategies for inherited DNA repair disorders and associated pathologies.
