Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PLIN2, or perilipin 2, is a member of the perilipin family of proteins that play critical roles in lipid storage and metabolism. It primarily localizes to lipid droplets in adipocytes and other cell types, serving as a key regulator of lipolysis by controlling the access of lipases to stored triglycerides. Research on PLIN2 has gained momentum due to its implications in metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Its overexpression has been linked to enhanced lipid storage, while deficiencies are associated with altered lipid metabolism and cellular stress responses. Furthermore, PLIN2 is not only pivotal in adipose tissue but is also expressed in various non-adipose tissues, suggesting a broader role in systemic energy homeostasis. Investigating the structural and functional properties of recombinant PLIN2 proteins aids in understanding their role in lipid metabolism and the regulatory mechanisms governing lipid droplet dynamics. Additionally, the generation of recombinant PLIN2 provides opportunities to study its interaction with other proteins and lipids, as well as its post-translational modifications. Overall, research on recombinant PLIN2 protein is vital for deciphering its role in health and disease, thereby offering potential therapeutic targets for managing metabolic disorders.
