Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MBOAT2 (Membrane-Bound O-acyltransferase 2) is a critical enzyme involved in the post-translational modification of proteins through palmitoylation, a process that impacts membrane localization and protein stability. Research on MBOAT2 has gained attention due to its potential implications in various physiological processes and its association with various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. This interest is heightened by the recognition that palmitoylation can significantly influence cellular signaling pathways, affecting cell growth, movement, and apoptosis. Understanding the structural and functional aspects of MBOAT2, particularly through the study of its recombinant protein, is pivotal for elucidating its role in disease mechanisms and cellular functions. Furthermore, MBOAT2's involvement in the regulation of lipid metabolism and membrane dynamics positions it as a potential therapeutic target. By producing recombinant MBOAT2, researchers aim to study its enzymatic activity, interactions with substrates, and regulatory mechanisms in detail, advancing our knowledge of its biological significance and paving the way for potential interventions in related pathologies. This area of research not only facilitates a deeper understanding of lipid metabolism but also enhances our ability to design specific inhibitors or modulators that could be beneficial in clinical settings.
