Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
OSM (Oncostatin M) is a cytokine belonging to the interleukin-6 (IL-6) family, which plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including inflammation, hematopoiesis, and cell differentiation. Research on OSM has gained significant attention due to its dual role in both promoting and inhibiting tumor progression, particularly in various cancers such as breast and prostate cancer. Its receptor complex, consisting of the OSM receptor and the glycoprotein 130 (gp130), activates several intracellular signaling pathways, including the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT) pathway, which is implicated in the regulation of gene expression related to cell survival and growth. The understanding of OSM's structure and function, particularly through the study of its recombinant forms, provides insights into how OSM modulates immune responses and its potential therapeutic applications, including tumor immunotherapy and regenerative medicine. Given the complexity of OSM's role in both immune modulation and cancer biology, ongoing research aims to unravel its mechanism of action and explore its efficacy in clinical applications, thereby contributing to the development of novel treatment strategies targeting OSM in cancer and other diseases. This investigation into OSM's recombinant proteins not only enhances our understanding of its biological significance but also opens avenues for new therapeutic interventions that could leverage OSM's properties to manage various health conditions effectively.
