  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MVK (Mevalonate Kinase) is an essential enzyme involved in the mevalonate pathway, which is crucial for the biosynthesis of sterols and isoprenoids in various organisms. In humans, mutations in the MVK gene are associated with hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome (HIDS), a rare autoinflammatory disorder characterized by recurrent fever, rash, and lymphadenopathy. The study of MVK recombinant proteins is significant for understanding the enzyme's structure-function relationships, as well as the molecular mechanisms underlying HIDS. By producing MVK in a recombinant form, researchers can analyze its enzymatic properties, stability, and interactions with other cellular components in controlled laboratory settings. These studies not only contribute to a deeper understanding of the mevalonate pathway but also pave the way for developing potential therapeutic strategies for conditions arising from MVK deficiency. Furthermore, insights gained from MVK protein studies may guide the design of targeted drugs or treatments for related metabolic disorders, underscoring the importance of this research in both fundamental biology and clinical applications.
