Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
IL-18 binding protein (IL-18BP) is a crucial regulatory protein that modulates the activity of interleukin-18 (IL-18), a pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in various immune responses. Elevated IL-18 levels have been associated with several inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and psoriasis, highlighting the need for effective therapeutic strategies to regulate its activity. IL-18BP acts by binding to IL-18, preventing it from interacting with its receptor and, consequently, inhibiting IL-18-mediated signaling pathways. This modulation is pivotal in controlling excessive inflammation and tissue damage. The recombinant form of IL-18BP has garnered significant attention in recent years as a potential therapeutic agent due to its ability to mitigate inflammatory responses in preclinical models. Researchers have been investigating its efficacy in various pathological contexts, focusing on its role in improving outcomes in diseases characterized by dysregulated IL-18 signaling. Understanding the structure-function relationship of IL-18BP and exploring its application in combination therapies may pave the way for novel anti-inflammatory treatments. Additionally, studies have been focusing on optimizing recombinant production methods to enhance yield and biological activity, further supporting its development as a therapeutic protein. Overall, IL-18BP represents a promising avenue for therapeutic intervention in diseases driven by IL-18-mediated inflammation, opening new possibilities for managing chronic inflammatory conditions.
