Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Interleukin-5 (IL-5) is a pivotal cytokine primarily involved in the regulation of eosinophil survival, proliferation, and activation, making it a key player in allergic responses and asthma pathophysiology. Over the past few decades, research has focused on understanding the role of IL-5 in various diseases, particularly its contribution to eosinophilic disorders, such as asthma and eosinophilic esophagitis. The interest in IL-5 has been fueled by the identification of monoclonal antibodies that specifically target IL-5 or its receptor, demonstrating effectiveness in reducing eosinophil levels and improving clinical outcomes in asthma patients. Consequently, recombinant IL-5 protein has emerged as a crucial tool for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying its functions, facilitating the development of targeted therapeutics. Studies involving recombinant IL-5 have revealed its interaction with specific receptors on eosinophils, promoting cell signaling pathways essential for their activation and survival. This knowledge has paved the way for novel treatment strategies, thereby directing research efforts toward optimizing these therapies while also exploring the potential of IL-5 modulation in other inflammatory conditions. As the landscape of immunology continues to evolve, the understanding of IL-5 and its therapeutic implications remains vital for addressing eosinophil-mediated diseases and improving patient outcomes.
