Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in the modulation of immune responses, primarily by stimulating the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) from T and natural killer (NK) cells. This cytokine is involved in various physiological and pathological processes, including chronic inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and cancer. The potential therapeutic applications of IL-18 have garnered significant attention, particularly in enhancing anti-tumor immunity and providing adjuvant effects in vaccine development. Recombinant IL-18 proteins have been extensively studied as they can mimic the natural cytokine's effects, allowing for controlled expression and activation of the immune system. Research has demonstrated that the administration of IL-18 can lead to increased cytotoxic activity of immune cells and improved outcomes in various cancer models. Additionally, the manipulation of IL-18 expression has implications for treating autoimmune disorders, where moderating immune responses is critical. Advances in biotechnology have enabled the production of recombinant IL-18 with high purity and bioactivity, facilitating clinical trials aimed at evaluating its efficacy and safety in humans. Overall, the study of IL-18 recombinant proteins represents a promising frontier in immunotherapy, offering new avenues for enhancing immune responses against diseases and improving patient outcomes.
