Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Metabotropic glutamate receptor 4 (GRM4) is a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a crucial role in modulating glutamatergic transmission in the central nervous system. Its involvement in various neurological conditions, including schizophrenia, anxiety, and Parkinson's disease, has garnered considerable attention in recent years. GRM4 is primarily expressed in the brain regions associated with motor control and cognition, suggesting its potential role in influencing behavior and neurological health. Research on GRM4 has been enhanced by advances in protein engineering, allowing for the production of recombinant GRM4 proteins. These recombinant proteins are vital for studying the receptor's structure-function relationships, ligand-binding characteristics, and interactions with intracellular signaling pathways. Investigating GRM4 through recombinant techniques facilitates the identification of novel therapeutic targets, paving the way for the development of drugs that could alleviate symptoms of neuropsychiatric disorders. Additionally, understanding GRM4's role at the molecular level can improve our comprehension of synaptic plasticity and neurotransmission, contributing to broader insights in neurobiology. The ongoing research into GRM4 and its recombinant forms reflects the growing recognition of its significance in both basic and translational neuroscience, highlighting its potential in drug discovery and therapeutic interventions.
