Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC30A8, also known as zinc transporter 8 (ZnT8), is a gene that encodes a protein responsible for regulating cellular zinc levels, particularly in pancreatic beta cells. Its importance has been highlighted by genetic studies linking variants of SLC30A8 with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. The protein functions to transport zinc ions into the insulin granules, playing a crucial role in insulin crystallization and secretion. Given that zinc is critical for insulin stability and function, understanding the mechanisms of ZnT8 can provide valuable insights into the pathophysiology of diabetes. The study of SLC30A8 recombinant protein seeks to elucidate its structure, function, and interaction with other cellular components, thereby enabling the development of targeted therapeutic strategies to improve insulin secretion and glucose homeostasis. Furthermore, investigating the functional differences between various SLC30A8 variants may help identify potential molecular targets for intervention in diabetes treatment. As such, SLC30A8 presents a significant focus for research aimed at combating the global diabetes epidemic by enhancing our understanding of zinc's role in metabolic health.
