  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ADCY5, or Adenylate Cyclase 5, is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), a critical signaling molecule that regulates various physiological processes including neuronal signaling, cardiac function, and metabolism. Mutations in the ADCY5 gene have been linked to a range of disorders, notably the recently identified ADCY5-related syndrome characterized by movement disorders, obesity, and hyperactivity. The study of ADCY5 recombinant proteins is crucial for understanding the functional implications of these mutations, as well as their impact on cAMP levels and downstream signaling pathways. Research into ADCY5 recombinant proteins enables the exploration of enzyme kinetics, structural biology, and interaction with other signaling molecules, providing insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying its dysfunction. This research holds potential for developing targeted therapies that can ameliorate symptoms in individuals with ADCY5 mutations, thereby improving the quality of life for patients affected by related disorders. Furthermore, the production and characterization of ADCY5 recombinant proteins help advance our understanding of cAMP-mediated signaling and its broader implications in health and disease. As the body of knowledge expands, it may lead to novel approaches in treating metabolic and neurological disorders associated with ADCY5 dysfunction.
