Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CYP11A1, also known as cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme, plays a crucial role in steroidogenesis by converting cholesterol into pregnenolone, the precursor for all steroid hormones. This enzyme, located in the mitochondria of steroidogenic cells, is essential for the synthesis of glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, and sex steroids, influencing a multitude of physiological processes including metabolism, immune response, and reproductive functions. Due to its pivotal role, mutations or dysregulation of CYP11A1 have been associated with various endocrine disorders, including congenital adrenal hyperplasia and adrenal insufficiency. The study of recombinant CYP11A1 proteins provides insights into its functional mechanisms, substrate specificity, and interactions with other proteins. Furthermore, research on this enzyme has implications for therapeutic strategies targeting steroid-related disorders. By generating recombinant CYP11A1 proteins, researchers can elucidate the enzyme's kinetic properties, identify potential drug interactions, and explore its structural characteristics, which are fundamental for the development of inhibitors that can modulate its activity. Overall, the investigation of CYP11A1 through recombinant protein studies is vital for advancing our understanding of steroid biosynthesis and developing novel treatments for related diseases.
