  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Setd4 is a member of the SET-domain containing family of proteins known for their role as histone methyltransferases. This family of proteins is crucial in epigenetic regulation, influencing gene expression through the modification of histones. Setd4 specifically has garnered interest due to its potential involvement in various biological processes, including cell differentiation, development, and pathology, particularly in cancer. Studies have shown that Setd4 can regulate the trimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me3), a modification associated with active transcription and gene activation. Additionally, it has been implicated in the DNA damage response, suggesting a broader role beyond transcriptional regulation. The study of recombinant Setd4 protein allows researchers to better understand its enzymatic activity and substrate specificity, as well as its interactions with other proteins and regulatory factors in the cell. Moreover, investigating the therapeutic potential of targeting Setd4 could lead to novel strategies for cancer treatment, as altered expression of Setd4 is often observed in tumorigenesis. The ongoing research into Setd4 not only elucidates its function in normal cellular processes but also highlights its significance in disease contexts, making it an important target for further study in epigenetics and cancer biology.
