Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Thymidine kinase 1/TK1

  • 简介

The thymidine kinase 1/TK1 protein acts as a cell surface receptor in the FCGRT protein. This receptor promotes the transfer of passive humoral immunity from mother to newborn by selectively binding to monomeric immunoglobulin gamma in milk. Thymidine kinase 1/TK1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Thymidine kinase 1/TK1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) is a crucial enzyme involved in the salvage pathway of nucleotide synthesis, specifically responsible for phosphorylating thymidine to thymidine monophosphate. This enzyme plays a significant role in DNA synthesis and repair, particularly in rapidly dividing cells, which makes it an important biomarker for cellular proliferation. Abnormal levels of TK1 have been associated with various cancers, viral infections, and other diseases, highlighting its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target. Recombinant TK1 proteins are extensively used in research to enhance our understanding of its role in tumor biology and to develop novel cancer therapies. Additionally, the production of recombinant TK1 allows for the study of its structural and functional properties, paving the way for the development of TK1 inhibitors. These inhibitors could potentially serve as anti-cancer agents by targeting tumor cell proliferation. Moreover, research involving TK1 can contribute to better diagnostic tools for monitoring therapeutic responses and disease progression in cancer treatment. Understanding the regulation and expression of TK1 in different pathological contexts could lead to significant advancements in targeted therapies and personalized medicine.
