Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
GPX5 (glutathione peroxidase 5) is a member of the glutathione peroxidase family, which plays a crucial role in protecting cells from oxidative stress by reducing hydrogen peroxide and other reactive oxygen species. This enzyme is particularly interesting due to its unique expression pattern, which is primarily observed in the male reproductive system, specifically in the epididymis. Research has indicated that GPX5 is involved in sperm maturation and function, suggesting its potential significance in male fertility. Dysregulation of GPX5 has been linked to various reproductive disorders, making it a target of interest for investigating male infertility. Moreover, GPX5 has been shown to possess antioxidant properties that could have broader implications in cellular health and longevity. The study of recombinant GPX5 offers insights into its structural and functional characteristics, providing a platform for exploring its therapeutic potential. By generating and characterizing recombinant GPX5, researchers aim to unravel its mechanism of action, assess its enzymatic activity, and explore its interactions with other cellular components. This work is essential for developing strategies to manipulate GPX5 levels for therapeutic benefits in reproductive health and oxidative stress-related conditions.
