  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ZDHHC17, a member of the ZDHHC family of protein palmitoyltransferases, plays a crucial role in the post-translational modification of proteins through palmitoylation, a process that attaches palmitic acid to cysteine residues. This modification is essential for various cellular functions, including membrane localization, protein stability, and signal transduction. Dysfunction of ZDHHC17 has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer, highlighting its significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Research on the recombinant ZDHHC17 protein aims to elucidate its specific substrate interactions, enzymatic mechanisms, and biological effects. Utilizing recombinant technology allows for the expression and purification of ZDHHC17 in controlled conditions, facilitating detailed studies on its structure and function. Understanding the role of ZDHHC17 in palmitoylation could provide insights into its potential as a therapeutic target, as modulation of its activity may influence disease progression associated with protein dysregulation. Thus, investigating ZDHHC17 not only enhances our knowledge of post-translational modifications but also opens avenues for developing novel interventions for related pathologies.
