  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

DFNB31, also known as OHC-1, is a gene that has gained significant attention in the field of auditory research due to its association with autosomal recessive non-syndromic hearing loss. Mutations in this gene lead to defects in the function and structure of hair cells in the inner ear, which are crucial for auditory transduction. The protein encoded by DFNB31 is primarily expressed in the cochlea and plays a vital role in the maintenance of the integrity of the hair cell structure and the functioning of the mechanotransduction process. Research into DFNB31 has highlighted its importance not only in hearing pathways but also in the underlying molecular mechanisms that govern sensory cell function. The generation of recombinant DFNB31 proteins has enabled scientists to conduct in-depth studies into its biochemical properties and its interactions with other proteins involved in hearing loss. Understanding the structure and function of DFNB31 can provide insights into the pathophysiology of hearing impairment and pave the way for potential therapeutic strategies. Consequently, ongoing studies aim to elucidate the roles of DFNB31 in inner ear development and to explore its potential as a target for genetic or pharmacological interventions for hearing restoration.
