  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

DDB1 (Damage-specific DNA Binding Protein 1) is a key component of the UV-DDB complex, which is crucial for the repair of DNA damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) light. Research has shown that DDB1 plays a significant role in recognizing and binding to distorted DNA structures, facilitating the recruitment of repair machinery to effectively address lesions caused by UV exposure. Beyond its role in DNA repair, DDB1 also participates in various cellular processes, including transcription regulation and protein degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. The study of DDB1 has gained attention due to its implications in cancer biology, as defective DNA repair mechanisms can lead to genomic instability and tumorigenesis. Recent investigations into the structural and functional aspects of DDB1 have revealed its interactions with other cellular partners, shedding light on its multifaceted roles in maintaining genomic integrity. Furthermore, mutations or alterations in DDB1 expression have been correlated with various diseases, emphasizing the importance of understanding its molecular mechanisms. Ongoing research aims to elucidate the dynamics of DDB1 in cellular contexts, offering potential therapeutic strategies for conditions linked to impaired DNA repair and cancer progression. Overall, the comprehensive study of DDB1 and its reassembly as a recombinant protein is likely to contribute to advancing our knowledge in the fields of molecular biology and oncology.
