Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLCO1B1, a member of the solute carrier organic anion transporter superfamily, encodes a protein that plays a crucial role in the hepatic uptake of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drugs and metabolites. This protein is primarily expressed in the liver and is responsible for the transport of statins, certain antiretrovirals, and various bile acids. Genetic polymorphisms in SLCO1B1, particularly the *521T>C variation, have been associated with altered drug metabolism and increased risk of adverse drug reactions, particularly myopathy related to statin therapy. Over the past years, research has focused on characterizing the functional implications of these genetic variations and their impact on pharmacotherapy, making SLCO1B1 a key target for pharmacogenomic studies. Understanding the structure and function of SLCO1B1 through the generation of recombinant proteins has facilitated the analysis of substrate specificity, transport kinetics, and interaction with various compounds, offering insights essential for the development of personalized medicine approaches. Advances in this area aim to optimize drug efficacy and minimize toxicity by considering individual genetic backgrounds, paving the way for improved therapeutic strategies in the management of conditions requiring pharmacological intervention.
