  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

LptD is a critical component of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) transport system in Gram-negative bacteria, playing a pivotal role in the assembly of LPS on the outer membrane. Research into LptD has gained momentum due to its significance in bacterial membrane biology and pathogen-host interactions. LptD functions as a β-barrel protein that forms part of a complex with LptC, facilitating the transport of LPS from the periplasmic space to the outer membrane. Understanding the structure and function of LptD is essential for elucidating the mechanisms of LPS assembly and its implications in antibiotic resistance, as LPS is a major component of the bacterial outer membrane that contributes to virulence and the ability to evade the host immune response. Moreover, the study of LptD and its interactions with other proteins offers insights into potential therapeutic targets for combating Gram-negative bacterial infections. As antibiotic resistance continues to escalate, elucidating the molecular underpinnings of LPS transport through LptD may provide innovative strategies for drug development and the design of new antibiotics, making this area of research highly relevant in addressing public health challenges posed by multidrug-resistant pathogens.
