Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The SLC39A8 gene, encoding a member of the solute carrier family, is crucial for cellular zinc transport and homeostasis. Recent research has highlighted its significant role in various physiological processes, including neuronal function, immune response, and metabolic regulation. Variants of the SLC39A8 gene have been associated with several human diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic syndromes, making it a key target for understanding disease mechanisms and potential therapies. The recombinant SLC39A8 protein is pivotal for elucidating its functional characteristics, such as zinc-binding affinity and transport activity, which are essential for deciphering its role in cellular physiology and pathology. With advances in protein expression techniques, scientists are now able to produce and study this protein in vitro, facilitating investigations into how mutations may alter its function and contribute to disease. Additionally, understanding SLC39A8 interactions with other cellular components may reveal new avenues for therapeutic intervention, particularly in conditions linked to zinc dysregulation. Overall, the study of recombinant SLC39A8 protein is critical to unveiling its biological significance and potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in various health conditions.
