Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC27A4, also known as fatty acid transport protein 4 (FATP4), is a member of the solute carrier family that plays a crucial role in the uptake of long-chain fatty acids in various tissues, particularly in adipocytes and muscle cells. The importance of SLC27A4 in lipid metabolism has drawn significant attention due to its potential implications in metabolic disorders such as obesity, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular diseases. Recent studies have highlighted the role of SLC27A4 in maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and its involvement in the pathophysiology of fatty liver disease. Research on recombinant SLC27A4 protein has focused on defining its structure-function relationship, elucidating the mechanisms of fatty acid transport, and understanding regulatory pathways that influence its activity. Utilizing techniques like site-directed mutagenesis and heterologous expression systems, scientists are exploring the specific regions of the protein that interact with fatty acids to enhance substrate specificity and transport kinetics. Furthermore, the elucidation of SLC27A4's crystal structure could provide insights into its transport mechanism, paving the way for potential therapeutic interventions targeting metabolic diseases linked to fatty acid dysregulation. Overall, ongoing research into recombinant SLC27A4 not only seeks to unravel fundamental biological processes but also aims to identify novel biomarkers and drug targets for metabolic syndrome and related health conditions.
