  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SorCS1 (Sortilin-related VPS10 domain-containing receptor 1) is a member of the VPS10P domain receptor family, which plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including neuronal development, cell signaling, and protein sorting. The interest in SorCS1 research stems from its involvement in the regulation of neurotrophic factors and its potential link to neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. SorCS1 is known to influence the trafficking and processing of critical proteins, thereby impacting neuronal health and plasticity. Additionally, recent studies have highlighted its role in modulating insulin signaling and glucose metabolism, suggesting that it may also have implications in metabolic disorders. The recombinant expression of SorCS1 protein allows researchers to investigate its structural and functional properties, facilitating a deeper understanding of its biological roles. Advances in protein engineering and recombinant techniques have enabled the production of large quantities of stable SorCS1 for in vitro studies, paving the way for pharmacological investigations and the development of therapeutic strategies targeting SorCS1-related pathways. By elucidating the mechanisms of SorCS1 action, researchers aim to uncover novel insights into its role in health and disease, potentially contributing to the development of new interventions for neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders.
