Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CDK5R2, also known as cyclin-dependent kinase 5 regulatory subunit 2, plays a crucial role in neuronal function and development by modulating the activity of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5). CDK5 is integral to various neuronal processes, including neuronal migration, synaptic transmission, and neuroplasticity. Dysregulation of CDK5 and its regulatory subunits, including CDK5R2, has been implicated in several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. The reconstitution and characterization of CDK5R2 as a recombinant protein facilitate the understanding of its molecular interactions and functional dynamics in regulating CDK5 activity. Researchers utilize recombinant forms of CDK5R2 to investigate its structural properties, binding affinities, and the consequences of its interaction with CDK5 in cellular models. Moreover, studying CDK5R2 can provide valuable insights into the intricate signaling pathways in neurons and contribute to identifying potential therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative diseases and other CNS-related disorders. Overall, the research on CDK5R2 and its recombinant protein form not only advances our knowledge of neuronal signaling but also lays the groundwork for future developments in drug discovery and therapeutic interventions aimed at mitigating neurodegeneration.
