Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Mup6, a member of the major urinary protein (MUP) family, has garnered attention in the field of biochemical and physiological research due to its complex role in chemical communication and social behaviors among rodents. MUPs, including Mup6, are secreted proteins primarily found in the urine of male mice, serving as pheromones that convey information about genetic fitness, territory, and reproductive status to potential mates and rivals. The study of Mup6 is particularly significant as it illustrates the interplay between genetics, social behaviors, and the evolutionary dynamics of communication in mammals. Advances in recombinant protein technology have facilitated the generation of Mup6 for detailed functional studies, allowing researchers to explore its structure-function relationships, binding affinities, and interactions with other molecules, including small pheromonal compounds. Additionally, understanding the variations in Mup6 expression among different strains of mice can shed light on the adaptive significance of these proteins in natural populations. As researchers continue to unlock the molecular mechanisms underlying Mup6's functions, there is potential for broader implications in understanding mammalian communication, behavioral ecology, and even applications in pest control strategies. The rich biological insights derived from Mup6 studies may also inform broader questions about the evolution of social signaling and mate selection processes in mammals.
