  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CNTN4, or Contactin-4, is a member of the contactin family of cell-adhesion molecules that plays a crucial role in the nervous system, particularly in neural development and myelination. Research has indicated that CNTN4 is essential for the proper functioning and connectivity of neurons, as it modulates interactions between neurons and glial cells. It has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including autism spectrum disorders and schizophrenia, making it a significant focus of investigation. The study of CNTN4 recombinant proteins aims to elucidate its structure-function relationship and understand how alterations in its expression or function may contribute to neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions. By generating and characterizing CNTN4 recombinant proteins, researchers hope to develop therapeutic strategies that target the pathways influenced by this protein, thereby offering potential interventions for related disorders. Additionally, understanding CNTN4's role at a molecular level may shed light on broader mechanisms of cell adhesion and communication in the nervous system, providing insights that could lead to novel approaches in neurobiology and regenerative medicine.
